So, 1stly, yes I'm an idiot who needs to buy a torque wrench....

Secondly I've just sheared off my front wiper bolt.

Is it new mechanism time or can I swap just the one pivot / wiper mount?

Doh. I changed the mechanism on an A4 once and it looks similar to the van’s one. That was only available as one unit. Much harder to get to on the A4.

Looks like you have to change the lot, the splines aren't available separately

Were you doing what I have just done? (Earth point) because I didn’t realise they needed to be torqued and just pulled until tight - guess I was lucky. Should I get them torqued and if so what setting and I will see if I can borrow a wrench.
cheers.
why is nothing ever simple......

Not critical.
Anyways,
Earth point in plenum chamber - 9 Nm.
Wiper arm, nut - 20 Nm.

Balls. OK. Thanks.

Need to stop skimping on the torque wrench.

It isn't critical to have them torqued perfectly. Just mine have been seized a couple of times and I clearly overdid it retightening.

Yes I was earthing in the scuttle bay.
