T6 4Motion DSG (2019)
I'm chasing a whining/howling noise that starts at around 80 km/h and seems to come from the front of the vehicle. The noise remains unchanged if I shift from D to N while driving.
About a year ago, the right front driveshaft was replaced because the inner splines were worn. That fixed the original issue. At the same time, the transfer case oil was changed and there was a small amount of metal debris found in the old oil, although I'm not sure if that's related to the current noise.
Wheel bearings seem fine, and the front shock absorbers were recently replaced, but the noise was present before that work.
The driveshaft center bearing support has some cracks in the rubber, ordered a new part but haven't got to replacing it. Although I dont think that could make this noise unless the support bearing is also faulty?
Engine and gearbox mounts have been replaced but noise was present before.
Has anyone experienced a similar whine/howl on a T6 4Motion? Any ideas on what to check next?
