Which Plug And Play Mfsw ?

I’d like to swap my plain steering wheel for a MFSW. Currently I have no paddles, however it does say DSG on my gear selector

Having read lots of steering wheel posts I’m still confused on how easy will this be for a non electrical person.

Which donor steering wheel can I use as a straight swap ? And will it accept my current airbag ?
If I don’t have any functions on the current steering wheel are all the electric connectors hiding somewhere or do I need to add them ?
With no gear paddles currently, can I add a steering wheel with paddles ? If so are all the necessary electrical connections there already or do I need to add them ?

It's a bit of a minefield. There isn't really a plug and play option. A Golf Mk7 flat bottomed wheel will fit. If you've got cruise control it more difficult as the buttons may not be the correct ones. You'll also need a new airbag loom and you'll have to add some extra wires from the squib back to the BCM. On the plus side, as long as the wheel you get has the hook fittings for the air bag you'll be able to swap that over

If you have dsg, then awheel like this with paddles will work straight away with no additional work..

Doesn't it depend on if you have cruise on a stalk or buttons on wheel?

Yes, that is correct but he has got any buttons on the wheel at the moment, so if he has already got cruise it’s ok
