Hi guys, had a good read but not really boiled down an answer.....can someone simplify the options for which MFSW I can use to swap out my non ACC T6 Highline please.

Looking to add paddles, and a nicer shaped wheel.

Looks like I can fit a Golf 7 or Passat wheel and transfer the airbag and buttons, is it that simple?

I assume the GTi and R wheels don't fit as they have a round airbag rather than the larger shield shape airbag?

In that case is it a complete swap (IE wheel, airbag and buttons?)

Thanks

To answer the first part of my own question for anyone else wondering cos I went ahead and tried it..........

Yes, if the airbag is the same shape (eg Golf 7) the steering wheel can be swapped by transferring the buttons from the T6 as they'll likely be a differnt layout on the Golf. The DSG paddles are just plugged in and work out of the box.

Hi. Thanks for this info…I’m just about to swap out my Highline Non ACC (Standard CC) wheel for a Tiguan Flat Bottom Tiguan Wheel (same shaped airbag)

Regarding the padel’s, so these just wok when you knock the DSG into manual?

Also, what year did you do this on. Mines a 69 Plate (Last of the T6).

Thanks
Chris

Just an update. The Tiguan wheel uses a different airbag as many will probably know, but the shape looks the same….so that caught me out 🤦‍♂️

I have just put on a Passat B8 DSG Flat bottom wheel, and changed over my buttons and it’s all working perfect. The DSG paddles were just plug and play.

Depends on which buttons you have. Mine is a 2016 non adble van and i got a polo wheel with paddles and it was all a straight swap.

See my post for golf wheel :)

If you’re wanting paddles, it’s possible, with coding. Mines a manual so didn’t get that option. The buttons control the paddles and the wiring already exists in most button applications.
