If you are running 20s on a t32 legally for the load rating of the tyre you need a 275/40/20 not 35 or 30 which then possibly rubs wheel liner
So the wheel needs rating of 860kg then a 106xl I believe

Another knowledgable bunch, do a lot on vans, loading and motorhomes/campers as well.

Hi Yesboy, can you clarify your comment please....is the reason that you need a 275/40/20 because a 35 or 30 with load rating of 103+ doesn't exist? I'm in the same boat as others on here trying to source wheels/tyres for t32 and had been assuming that as long as I get appropriate load rating on the wheels and tyres, the size of either doesn't matter, apart from the fact that some combinations may rub on arch liner.

Cheers.

@Pipedream72, that is exactly the case, no manufacturer makes a 30 or 35 profile tyre for a 20" wheel that is rated at 103 or higher.
There are other tyre options suitable however, as the 275/40/20 is on the upper side of what is defined as being "within tolerance" for speedo error.
Take a look at the other threads on tyres and wheels for T32 as they provide significant assistance; such as:-
T32 - 20" Wheels fitment!
Or
Tyre Width?

Hi
So if you are looking for a 20" wheel you can't get the load rating needed with a 275/35/20 which is only 102 850kg so you can either fit a 265/40/20 103 875kg or a 275/40/20 104 900kg but a 40 profile can rub on arches and you also need to be very careful of the offset of the wheels to
I've not fitted my wheels yet but a good size is 9j with et40 offset from all the info I've gathered over weeks of searching but there's many guys on here that have fitted wheels that have had no issues but not sure on there sizes and offsets
T32 needs to be 860kg so wheels 860+ and tyres 860+

Ta for replies Davey/Yesboy...I've posted a bit more analysis I've done to the Tyre Widths? thread (Tyre Width?).

I've come to the conclusion that 265/40 is better than a 275/40.....but I might be missing something.

This may be a silly question but, My van is a T32 Kombi. I use it as a day van so it never carries any significant load. Will I still need to buy the correct load rated tyres ?
