Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

The most amazing place I have ever been to , the views were just Stunning !
We came up from South Somerset on Monday to Bunree campsite, which is about midway between Glencoe and Fort William.

Drove out to Loch Etive early Tuesday morning to avoid the hoards. Quite a few campervans parked up along the way, but the car park was nearly empty.

When we left, there was lot more trafffic, but it's a good thing there were so many passing places. 🫣

The bridge by the Ben Nevis visitor centre must have seen many a weary walker passing by after climbing the mountain, even on a very wet day like today has been.

A drive through Glen Nevis was just as wet, but walking the last few miles was even wetter. 🙃

That sounds like an awesome trip with the perfect van for it .

We have the same trip planned for October, with our T6.1 ....can't wait.

A quick catch up as I've been neglecting my posting responsibilities over the last few days.

After Ile d'Oleron we headed further down the coast to Noirmoutier and over the bridge (tide times were wrong for the causeway!) and checked into Camping Sandy La Bosse for a couple of night. An excellent with sparking new sanitary blocks at 24¢ with ACSI. We were allocated a level pitch but some looked more like ski slopes than camping pitches - as they are all on sand, it looked quite easy to dig yourself in as well (no surprise that all there electric carts that the staff got around in were equipped with sand ladders and shovels!). The downside of the site which didn't really affect us in the short stay was no restaurant of their own and only one in the village or, more correctly, the local bar which also served decent grub. The site is also just behind a fantastic beach which just seem to go on and on but it was a bit windy while we were there so we took a 5 Km walk along it and then returned using Google Maps through a pine forest and very quite lanes - as I say, very windy but there sun shone all the way and it was reasonably warm. The pitch is Pic 1 and the beach 2.

Leaving Noirmoutier, we started the journey back to Calais via Hourtin in Normandy and Camping Homair La Vallee. TBH, I wouldn't recommend it for any longer than one night. As campers / motorhomes were very much the poor relations at the place which had been mostly given over to chalets and 'safari tents' which made it seem like camping pitches had been set up only in places where it might have been difficult to put the other stuff - a bit like what's been done to Camping Riva Bella in Ouistreham which is run be the same firm. The pitch is at Pic 3 but it was actually smaller than it looks in the picture and was also a bit tight to get into (I pressed to reverse into it though)

We are now down in Camping Fort du Lapin on the outskirts of Calais for a few days before crossing under the channel on Wednesday. We've been coming here for years as it's just so convenient for Le Shuttle (10 minutes) - the facilities are all recently refurbished and it's close enough to walk into town but there's also a free bus going there from just outside the camp gates. The bus also got in the other direction for the 8 Km to Cap Blanc Nez which is where we went today, albeit only for 25 monies before catching the but on it's way back to town for a walk around (and a bag of chips from Friterie des Nations). While we were in town , we caught the back end of a classic car event and pics are of a couple octopus cars that caught my eye (but TBH, I'm not much of a petrol head). The final pic is the pitch. Tomorrow's plan is to catch the bus back to Cap Blanc Nez and then walk from there along the coast path back to the campsite (as mentioned above, about 8 Km).
