Just finishing another great weekend at Carfest. Weather was amazing, my 12 Yr old son drove his 1st car. Saw some amazing cars. Had a brilliant time again. Moving to Silverstone next year.

I to went to carfest as daughters are managers for the company that runs all the bars. Loved everything about it except for Busted. I know there punk but thought he swore too much for a family crowd. Other than than it was brilliant and so was the weather. Glad you had an awesome time.

I agree, considering it's a family friendly festival one of them went over the top with his language. 😡

I did mention it in the survey for the festival. He was playing to the audience he wanted not the audience that was there. Take care.

Lynmouth holiday retreat site for the weekend. We tried to stretch the summer for an extra weekend but the weather isn’t playing ball.
That is a lovely site if you like the killer mountain trek to lynmouth
Nice walk to watersmeet if you haven't already been then back via lynmouth and the funicular railway and the walk back to site is a little more tolerable

Have a walk planned for tomorrow via watersmeet but the wife’s a local (ex) so she’s not bothered as she’s been there thousands of times as a kid

Spent three nights at the C&C Club site at Kendal. Site is just north of the town, and a short walk takes you to a shopping area with a bus stop where there is a 30 minute service into Kendal town centre. The camp site is quite small and very tidy with modern clean facilities and friendly staff.

Weather for the three days was forecast to be very wet, but in practice turned out to be only occasional light rain during the day, while the nights were torrential downpours with a really good thunderstorm one evening. Fortunately we had a gravel pitch so wouldn't get bogged down.

Went into Kendal, a busy place although quite a number of empty shops. Good value bus services run from Kendal to other lake district tourist spots. We took the opportunity to ride to Windermere town and to Ambleside, in each case for £3 each one way. Windermere was the only place where we experienced a lot of rain while out. Ambleside had more hiking and mountaineering shops than I have ever seen together in one place before.

The weather as usual dictated that we would be stowing away a soggy awning on departure, but on arriving home the sun was out so we were able to get it all dried out successfully.

We started the NC500 today. Currently at the kelpsies in falkirk. Can't believe how many other vans are here. It's really busy... was hoping it would be quiet at this time or year

They are quite magnificent. I visited them at 7am once when on a bikepacking trip. I had slept in a hedge a little away, so was up early. There was no one else there, so sat for an hour with them all to myself.
