Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Been back to JCT600 Sheffield today, to have the freebie NSR ABS sensor fitted, carry out the annual MOT & a yearly service.

Got given an ID Buzz as a loan vehicle :D
Nice van to drive, quite nippy from a standing start at the traffic lights drag race.

But then received a phone call, saying failed MOT

Now waiting to see if the remaining 3 days of the "All In Plan" will cover this sensor. 🙏
I'll get a response from Vw UK within 48hrs.
After approval, as it's not an in stock parts dept item, it will need to be ordered & then fitted.

But after doing a TPI and further investigation, other stuff needs to be fitted:

And today, it's been approved for all to be supplied / fitted under the "All in Plan"

The original ABS sensor fitted last week was about £150 & with the above costs being added, that's a 1k bill being looked after.
I think it was worth paying for this 2 year warranty / rescue / service & MOT package.

Hopefully all will be ordered & completed this week & I can collect before the wknd.

my rear offside abs sensor packed up last September and i swapped it out for £8 obviously free labour but it was only a "get the wheel off and undo two screws" effort.

Suppose the comparative investment is in my VCDS which did the diagnosis.

I've not got VCDS, but have Volvo VIDA. First time I used it the thing earned its purchase price back in saved diagnostic costs at the dealer who, unlike VW dealers, were then happy to do the work I told them to without doing their own diagnosis, albeit at my own risk I were wrong. I hear VW dealers can get quite uppity if you try that with them, and no wonder - charging an hours labour plus VAT for a 10 minute job is a nice earner.

Planning to visit in a couple of weeks time. Are you staying somewhere nearby? I'm thinking of trying Herding Hill Farm near Haltwhistle, doing Cragside one day and Seaton Delaval hall another.
I'm fortunate to live up here full time.
Not really stayed at any sites up here yet except Paxton, near Berwick which is an 8/10

Wish we could get away but will have to wait another 3 weeks until the dog has built up to 30 minute walks. He’s only 6 & underwent cruciate ligament surgery in January. Whilst he’s doing really well we’ll have to take the buggy with us otherwise it will be awkward coming back from the pub.
Wife’s booked a site in Higher Bentham to which I told her it’s one of the mast polluted places in the uk. Apparently chemicals from fire extinguisher foam (now outlawed) I don’t suppose it’ll be an issue for us as I’ve no intention of digging holes 🙄
Van been used today as an electrical & plumbing vehicle.
