Where did you get your sun strip bud? Did you cut the T6F logo out yourself?Sunstrip time. I went for a matt black, and had the sensors cut out the middle.

The new battery arrived yesterday and I fitted it this morning. It was a bit tight to get in place, mainly due to it's extra width and the fact that it couldn't just be lifted up and lowered straight down but that wasn't a major problem once I had disconnected all the cable and moved everything out of the way. I then plugged my Carista dongle in to tell the van that it now had a larger battery but can't help thinking that I shouldn't have bothered. Carista asks for the Ah, make and serial number of the new battery so I put 80 Ah but it wouldn't recognise 'Varta' as the make or the actual serial number so I just typed 'AGM' for the make and left the serial number at '11111111111' which it seemed happy with. I had to 'relearn' the windows and redo the set up for the Kenwood stereo but other than that there didn't seem to be problems. Surely, it can't be that easy?My 2018 Highline camper has still got its original Varta 70Ah EFB battery but it's showing signs of a slow death so I ordered a replacement from Tayna today. Hopefully it will arrive early next week and is as easy to fit and code in with Carista as it's supposed to be. I sized up to an 80Ah but didn't want to go any bigger as it's a bit tight in there. I'll report back next week once it's in (or otherwise!). One of these:

Isn't the code VAO same as a Bosch-un?The new battery arrived yesterday and I fitted it this morning. VA0 or sometimes VAO for Varta. You need to change the serial number to something different from the previous one, so the system recognises there is a new battery and starts to learn it. 1111111112 will do.Carista asks for the Ah, make and serial number of the new battery so I put 80 Ah but it wouldn't recognise 'Varta' as the make or the actual serial number so I just typed 'AGM' for the make and left the serial number at '11111111111
You'll need to change it to an agm battery as you previously had an efb. For the serial number, I just use the fitted date. 16122025555The new battery arrived yesterday and I fitted it this morning. I don't use carista. But I know on the tablet at my work if I program a battery it only allows serial and capacity changes. If I go into I think module 61 for battery regulation, then the option is there for battery types@Drive Wayne @drinfinity @Dundee_Kev. Thanks for the input guys - I'll change the name and serial number as suggested in the morning. That said, I don't recall Carista giving the option of choosing between EFB, AGM or anything else as suggested by Kev. All I remember seeing was Ah, name and serial number but I might well have missed it and I'll look again when I revisit tomorrow. I'll report back.
Got a standard sunstrip mate from a vinyl guy then stenciled the sticker out yeahWhere did you get your sun strip bud? Did you cut the T6F logo out yourself?
Im under the impression that efb voltage is slightly less than agm, hence why it needs to be updated.@Drive Wayne @drinfinity @Dundee_Kev. I went back to Carista and repeated 080 (ie. 80Ah), changed make to 'VAO', serial number to '1612202500' and saved it all again. I also confirmed that there was no way (in Carista at least) to differentiate between EFB or AGM so just left it at that and on the basis that others on here have said that the van eventually teaches itself about the new battery i'm not going to worry about it any more. Again, thanks all for the advice.
That’s a proper strange looking Transporter, fair play.OK, just had a quick Google and caristas website has a YouTube videoand it shows you the battery type being changed
We have loads of them running about up here, think maybe they were built for the Scottish market....That’s a proper strange looking Transporter, fair play.
Send Carista an email stating the problem .I had the same issue recently ,changed the battery on my mini and when i plugged carista in it didnt show all the setting for a battery change ! so sent them an email which they replied to straight away asking me to send them data via the app which was easy to do,a couple of weeks later had another reply saying they had modified the latest software with a link to check it worked before it was released in the latest version update !My Carista app definitely does NOT show ‘Battery Technology’- just Ah, make and serial number. Could anybody else on here please plug their dongle in and have a look (@Drive Wayne @Dellmassive ?). I’ve actually got an evo version on the way to me but would be very surprised if that was any different. Maybe it’s a Skoda thing (I think it’s a Skoda in the video anyway). I’ll plug into my Q5 later and have a look as well.
