What Have You Bought Today?

My Bluetti AC180 arrived. I know everyone else has had one for years, but I’ve only just realised I need one. Great but if kit. Can charge our e-bikes when off grid now.View attachment 297800
My Mrs bought one a couple of months ago, powers everything in our awning, airfryer, coffee machine, toaster and flagpole lights, multiple usb's for phones etc.
Found a really good carry case/cover/bag on ebay for £19.27 which is waterproof too, unlike the Bluetti bag for silly money!
So useful, why we didn't get one sooner I really don't know!

The combination of a decent power pack and a big leisure battery is banging set up.
I’m positive I could stay off grid indefinitely with my set up.

I'm really considering not having EHU at all on my current build. Might just get 230ah seatbase battery and solar. Id happily go larger battery, the likes of 300ah but 230 is the max to get in under the drivers seat

Since I've had the big 270 watt panel on the lid, with a 230Ah LB, coupled with the Victron XS50 we have no need for EHU any more. Even before the big panel we only used EHU once to power our 'shed tent' in Skye. With the addition of the AC180 Bluetti we will never need EHU again!

Knowing nothing about electrics, a quick question.
I have a small leisure battery in my van, with loads of space next to it as it's under a rear seat. I also have a jackery 500. Am I OK to charge the leisure battery from the jackery via a battery charger, giving me more off grid capability. And then charge the jackery from its portable solar panel ?

Yep, I do that. Fogstar 105ah battery under the seat. 20a charger connected then plugged into Jackery 1000 for super fast charging of the fogstar.

Jakery connected to solar on the roof and can plugin when on EHU.

We did 4 weeks in France this year, in that heat, off grid despite having an EHU at each site, unfortunately it seemed all the places we stopped at catered mainly for wobble boxes and bloaty motor homes whose owners plod on with a simple lead acid battery and no solar so need the EHU.
Did have one French guy impressed that we seemed to have forgotten to plug in and had noticed our ghetto pop top array so wanted a run down ready to up his game in his Crafter sized motorhome.

I put in an EHU charger but after being away in my van all July I’m positive I will never need it.
230ah is still a huge battery and has a load of power.
I leave my fridge constantly running and use all the lights water pump heater etc. and it drops to around 98% before the solar panel promptly charges it back to 100%
I use the delta 2 for the tv and to charge up all the devices. It lasts 3 days doing this.
Then I charge it up using the EcoFlow 800w charger. Just leaving the van ticking over for 15 mins will charge it half full. A half hour drive will fully charge it.
This drops the 230ah LB to around 75-80%.
The solar on the roof again charges it to 100% very quickly.
Having the separate delta 2 allows me to have power away from the van but the coolest thing about this set up is being able to use my vans inbuilt microwave off grid.
I just take an EHU cable from the delta 2 out the side window and plug in into the vans EHU point.
