Many thanks @Spaghetti - makes perfect sense. Cheers PaulI’ve had warranty work and provided it was not something that was modified or removed for the conversion then I’ve not found it to be an issue. Dealers are quite familiar with conversions.
Items that have been modified or removed and refitted could be a sticking point though.
Like your thinking @Insert Coin ... to a degree!! They do love to find a way NOT to do the work ...and not not much of a smile! Great user name btw. With any vehicle warranty it's always best to assume the worst and that they'll dismiss all claims, then if by chance they do agree to cover a claim they will have excelled in your expectations.
I had a Subaru dealer refuse to replace a faulty crank position sensor because I had fitted a different backbox.
@Keefff , God that was PinA I bet... I know what you're saying .... but... still seems a bit pretty. My van arrived brand-new with new conversion. The auto latch on the slider door wasn’t working. I took it to VW, they confirmed the factory had fitted the unit in the door post, but wouldn’t do any investigation work until I had removed the ‘retro-seat’ (RIB bed) and all of the carpet lining on the left side in the back! Fair one I suppose it wasn’t their kit!
Thanks @Phil G. I have used a Hollis Autotech to do all my.rlectrics and general Servicing in Deeping St James, South Lincs. Great guys and reasonable... half the labour of VW ...take careMine goes to JCT Sheffield who are Cali specialists, so they know all about camper conversions, its not a problem.
They also supply such as Hillside Leisure with raw vans.
