VW T6 No start but cranking

thanks
readings attached ( exactly the same on both old and new )
Thanks. Something is wrong 🤔

Please make and post a couple (3-4) of

blockmap files of the controller: 01-Engine

Ignition ON/engine OFF

How-to create a blockmap file:

[VCDS]
[Applications]
[Controller Channel Map]
- Single Controller Address = 01
- Login or security access code: Leave blank
- Function: Measuring values
- Output: CSV file
[Go]

Click again [Go] to create another file

The result files are saved into directory C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs
Please post the files.

voltage readings are 0 at the regulator on cranking 0 too
I checked fuel pressure after the HPFP and showing over 300 bar on the gauge but there is nothing at the rail even with injectors pipe connections blocked
I will check wiring to the pressure regulator tomorrow
I think this is the problem... No voltage at the valve....

So wire fault, or supply fuse.

I would want to check the wire all the way back to the engine computer and also check for all powers and grounds going to the engine computer...

There are numerous fuses that run numerous supply rails within the computer...... If I fuse is loose or burned or missing or in the wrong slot then we will have no output voltage at that control valve.

That's what I think at the moment.

wire is correct and checked no problem on that ( all the way to ecu )
fuses checked as well ( all good )
grounds are checked and cleaned ( but saying that can you check where are all ground points for ECU, in one place under battery or somewhere else )
I checked main ground, under the battery, under wipers and both sides behind bumper ( anything else you can think off ?)

thanks

You need to get the pinout odd the engine ecu,

And check all powers and grounds there.

Then check continuity of all wire cores to the control valve.

It's possible the engine computer has an issue,... But unlikely as they are very resilient.

It seems like they obvious problem is the engine computer it's not getting any data or it's not controlling they can pressure control valve for the fuel rail.

So it could be an import problem as in it can't read the pressure or an output problem as in it can't drive the valve.

So we can assume it's a electrical issue of some form.

You could maybe say if you've got a local VW electrical specialists that could come to site and do the testing for you.

If you sign up as a VIP member you can get access to all of the downloads for the engine box and the schematics.

ecu was send for testing and come back as good
van come in with dead battery and water in EGR, I tested compression as a start ( all good ) fitted new glow plugs and new battery and started no problem
was running for 20 seconds and died, no start after that
my question is what changed?
after no start inspection started and work on fuel pressure started, scratched HPFP was found so replaced with new sensors and new Pressure regulator
still no joy

all done thank you
Thanks - it's even more weird.... now also fuel metering valve reports very low current. It was perfectly normal in the log of post #26 - both engine off and cranking.

You seem to have some plugs not connected?

Could you please make yet another engine blockmap - unplug both fuel pressure regulatator and fuel metering valve connectors
I'd like to see what's different then - can we see actual disconnect.

Please run also VCDS Auto-Scan the connectors unplugged.

Good morning
I just check Fuel metering valve wiring loom and wire colours don't match wiring diagram, any chance you could advise where is connected too ?
I have strange continuity readings between fuel metering valve and ECU

thanks

Fuel metering valve ( Blue/Red and Blue/Black) Blue/Red direct to ECU ( continuity correct ) Blue/Black ( continuity missing )
Fuel pressure regulator ( Green/Black and Brown ) Green/Black direct to ECU ( continuity correct ) Brown ( continuity correct to negative )

The attached appears to be the correct colours. Blue Black appears to go to SB12 fuse 10A
FYI the sb fuse box is the one in the engine bay by the front light.

The SA fuse box is under the battery.

The s seaviews box is the centre and a dashboard inside

thanks
can you please advise where is connection 31 ( picture attached ) is that Pin on ECU ? sorry for stupid question

31 refers to the location on the diagram, so along the bottom is a numerical sequence. If you look at the 2 pdf's in post 52 above, you will see the "number link" on the 2 drawings (not a stupid question by the way). T14f looks to be a14 pin plug/connector, that's what I would look for if you have a good output on the fuse. You could also pull the fuse and do a continuity test from the back of the output on the fuse holder to the plug on the valve. As @Dellmassive says, if you subscribe to VIP membership, you can access the download section for a wealth of info;)

no NOT yet
I end up with broken back ( in hospital for a week ) I'm still looking for solutions cables from ECU to fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure sensor are correct in good order
Oh No! hope you have a speedy recovery, was wondering why no feed back yet.
