Hi - If you look under here you can get your eyes on it. When you change the temp control the motor will adjust and you can hopefully spot if the linkage is broken.

Hi there, I recently purchased a heater part for the T6.1 transporter from you but after receiving it on EBay found that as a pensioner it was physically impossible for me to fit it. I would now request a refund from you if possible. Thank you. Richard.

Hi Richard - I understand, indeed it is a tricky part to fit! I will sort it out for you, please message me through ebay and we can get the ball rolling 👍

Hi Does this part fit a 2021 Transporter? Vw have just offered to repair mine for £800 ! They repaired it already 12 months ago under warranty ! The part they supply is clearly useless.

Guys, Inhave a t5 2003 multivan so dual climatronic. My driver side does not modify temperature.I opened partially the dashboard and found that a lever is broken.
Ok,but the question is how can I access the flap motors to remove/repair/replace.
I can barely fit on hand there not to say about screwdrivers and fitting the parts.
I am 100% sure vw doea not work like this,it is impoasible.Anybody having a video or step by step instruction with what to remove(airbag, steering wheel, whateevr) so I can remove engines put back etc.?
Also the side engine might be broken.I can see about 4 little actuators there but can’t get to them more than with my fingers to check if they move or not etc.
I believe the most important is how do we get there ,the rest is another story

Hello, here is a video one of my customers made which details the dash removal on a T5 (thanks Neal). Hope it helps:

Hi all. Just replacing my actuator and linkage for the second time (groan). Has anyone used this replacement linkage from the wider VAG group successfully? Looks a little more robust than the T6 original and appears to have the same dimensions to the ball.

Wish I looked at this thread sooner.
Taken all the lower dash off my T6.1, then found this thread. Can see the broken linkage so ordered the above part. Just need small child with small hands to fit it for me now!!

I received the part for my T6.1 today and fitted with much huffing and puffing.
Both mounting bolts are visible on the T6.1. But one is a bitch to get at. I improvised with the item in the attached photo.
I now have a working heater.
……and 2 spate screws that I missed putting back in when reinstalling the dash. 🤣🤣🤣

Been perusing the various threads about this after my heater became stuck on cold during the past couple weeks but am a bit confused.

I have managed to get the lower panels off on the drivers side then managed to reach up and in to manually move the linkage arm so that the flaps can be opened to allow heat thorough.

My problem however is that I can't see any visibly broken parts. Is it the type of breakage that will only be visible once I have dismantled/extracted the heater linkage?

I'm going to buy the updated part for the T6.1 from @romeorowe if this is the case but thought it best to put the question out there first before buying!

It took me a while to find it but all will be revealed when you remove the motor.

Hi, is there anyone in the Selby ( North Yorkshire ) area who has successfully changed this part?? I have the replacement RRD part but despite my efforts been unable to fit it I think my hands are too big! Will travel to you and pay for your time/work.

Me and a friend managed to do it on his t6.1 it is not a fun job and sadly I think you may struggle to find willing volunteers.

Hi lads, does anyone know what this part number is and whether it’s available anywhere?

I managed to snap one side of the clip while trying to fix it. This old plastic is so brittle...

Ideally, I’d like to replace all of them wite plastic parts. At least now to be fair, it’s definitely better than before, i just put that arm from servo over this snapped clip and at leat now I can control the temperature to some extent..
