Hi, My T6 will be 3 years old this comming January. The dealer is repairing the engine main oil seal which is leaking under waranty but the cost is £850. We have had a number of other issues which have been fixed under waranty too. We love the van as it ticks all the boxes we wanted but its the most unreliable vehicle we've owned.

How many of you purchase the extended warranties and needed to use them please? Given the yearly cost of them its hard to decide if it makes financial sense. I think the amount you can claim is capped too.

Cheers.

There is a thread relating to All-In Service Plan, with varying experiences depending (it seems) on the dealer and any modifications on your van.
Personally I chose a Warranty Direct 3 year plan, so I could use my local VW specialist.
The only warranty work on my van was an EGR flush, a new auxiliary belt and battery, all just within the initial 3 years.

I took out the extended warranty and service plan when i got my van. That was in Sept 2019 model and have now done 16k in it. No issues to date, thankfully. Are they all VW 'known' issues that you have had?

I took out the extended warranty when I brought the van, so 5 years total cover, I think it was only £400?

The van is now 3.5 years old and I’ve recently had an oil leak fixed which was £750ish, so it’s now paid for itself.

Egr and dpf faults are an ever present menace so I’d extend the warranty if I was in your shoes.
