Hi folks looking at popping a lithium battery and solar panel on the caravelle.
However a few questions, I only want it to run some basic usb connections and cigarette lighters. So DC, will it supply to the existing fittings with out any hassle or do I need wire in lots of additional stuff. Been looking at the victron range so any recommendations

Hello fellow Caravelle owner

Depending on what you want to run if your needs are simple and you want a light touch also worth considering a basic lithium power bank. They can also be topped up on solar while camping.

I use a little Beudens tucked in my kitchen pod to power additional lighting to save disturbing the original wiring. I have considered getting a second to secure under the driver's seat and make a panel of useful sockets on short leads on the clip on trim there - they're quite easy to find on eBay to have a spare to tinker with, I did that to fit switches.

Hey folks, been lurking for a while gathering useful advice as we considered if a van was right for us and now we have one on the drive the time was right to join fully and do the VIP thing to (potentially) do some electrical tinkering. Thanks everyone who posts advice here, it's a massive help even before you take the plunge and join in!
