Victron Bvm-712 And Solar

I know I’m asking more questions than answering presently

Does the Victron BVM-712 also monitor the solar energy I’m producing? I can’t see it in the user manual other than reference to the omission of the -ve symbol in the ‘power’ menu of the display.

No.... if its connected properly it will monitor all power in/out of the battery bank wherever it come from.

So it wont show you solar watts generated . . . . You can use the Victron MPPT for that but It will show charge/amps/volts/soc etc

If your parked up with solar running it will show increased volts an current in.

It measures instantaneous current/voltage/SOC. However, it doesn’t log these over time (other than some very basic depth of last discharge type stats) so it’s no good at all for keeping a record of what’s been happening - somewhat annoying for a two hundred quid device.
