Underbody guard - hanging down?

Hi,

I've just lowered my van on B14's. Going to drive out for a few days then final adjustments on the coil overs. But there is a huge plastic case thing on the left hand side under the van. It looks like a guard for the fuel tank etc. Has anyone taken this off?

Pretty much the whole of the underside of the van is covered in plastic under trays - except (I think) the fuel tank, which is also plastic. They have a habit of peeling off when driven through deep water and then hanging down, but they must offer some protection so I’ve left mine on. I can’t really see a need to remove them.

That looks like it’s fallen down buddy. There’s a break at one point. It might just need new fixtures or replacing.

Looks like that van has had modifications done at some time in its past for a mobility ramp, that's the cover for the mechanism or where the tank has been dropped for space above.
