Unable To Perform Mot Emissions Test My2016

I had the first MOT on my van on friday and they were unable to rev the engine over 2.5k in neutral for the emission test. That was at the city council MOT centre.
Is that normal?

I'm surprised that sort of thing can pass MOT

also advisory on cracked front bushes. Is that a job I can do at home with a jack? or not recommended?

thanks

I haven't tested it on my T6, but I know that a number of VAG vehicles will not rev very high when in neutral. It's deliberate and it's to protect the engine.

I guess it does a very good job of helping it pass the diesel emissions test as well. Wording of the test says that if the governor has been tampered with (i.e. artificially lower map throttle or rpm) then it's an instant fail but if VW have set the engine up like that then I guess its OK :)

It does sound pretty brutal when the tester revs a diesel to the limit.

Normal for park and neutral

That must be an old school garage...

I haven't seen then high rev a modern diesel in years.
