Tyres & Timing Belts

Hi all,
Anyone got any advice on tyre widths? Found a set of 18” alloys I like and think I can get in 255/45 or 235/50. Any comments? I guess the 235 are more fuel efficient? Any risk of the 255s rubbing on the arches? Van has been lowered 40mm.
And...
Just had a service. Van’s done about 26K, ‘66 plate. Got an advisory to get the timing belt changed (at the four year point) but apparently it’s 4yrs or 133k miles! Bit of a difference. Again, any advice welcome.
Thanks

My T6 Caravelle Executive came with 255/45R18 tyres. As long as you have wheels with the appropiate off set or near enough, I do not see why you should not fit the same. Mine are no where near rubbing. I have also a larger diameter set set up, with winter tyres they do not rub either 225/65R17. The wheels are after market in this latter case. My suspension is standard for the Executive. Which is I seem to recall is about 20/30mm short of a transporter? I will be raising that one way or another but nothing to do with those tyres.
