Tyre Sizes for 7.5 X 18 Rims

What Tyre sizes are you using on 7.5 X 18 wide rims.
Would 255/45x18 work or should I go 245/50 18

I'm sure there would be a variety of opinions but websites such as the one below suggest a 235 maximum on a 7.5 inch rim.

My summer tyres are 245/50r18. On the tyre sidewall it states '7.5j standard'. Its a fractionally oversized tyre size. About 6mm in radius. Although by the time the tread is worn down, they'll be very similar in rolling circumference to a new standard sized tyre 215/60r17 tyre.
