Trendline vs Highline

Hi
we are new to VW
we are looking at buying a 2019 T6 Camper
we are looking two , both 2019 , one is a Highline and one is a TLine with same mileage
both in very good condition
the extras on the TLine are a tow bar, a solar panel and a diesel heater and an awning
the Hline does have 20 inch alloy wheels against 18 inch on the Tline
the Hline has leather and sued interior as well
the TLine has been fully serviced and the Hline needs a service
The TLine is £2000 more
is the stars in the Hline worth going for the Hline over the TLine
thanks for your help

Do you want to tow anything and do you need a diesel heater? I’d rather have the higher spec van and the money to buy the awning and Solar panel of my choice and get the van serviced

I would agree

Highline gets you aircon and heated screen which is two things i wouldnt want to be without (especially AC!)

2019 will be out of warranty so you can use a local indy for servicing, shouldnt be too expensive but you are getting into cambelt territory with that age and that can knock the price up quite a bit

I had a similar option last year. Went hi line for air con and just had a diesel heater fitted.

It’s only don 16000 miles

Get the highline, the rest can be added.

Diesel heater is brilliant, anything other than midsummer camping and you will use it. Lots of places will install them, and lots of info on here if you DIY.

We have a wind out awning but they are about a grand to fit, I probably wouldn't bother next time and just get a rail and a sail type canopy.

Had my diesel heater fitting at my home by Josh, excellent service, went for the quieter pump installed under the van - Diesel Heaters - Craft'A'Camper

Looking for first van around the 20k mark.
Seen a nice looking lwb trendline. Should I wait for a high line or consider it as I’ve never really used aircon in my other vehicles and heated screen I could maybe manage without. Not sure of other differences. Will it be harder to sell in the future?
Thanks for any advice

If you’re not fussed about air conditioning then go for the trendline. All the other highline upgrades can be retro fitted later if you decide you want them.
People tend to buy vans that suits their needs best regardless of model.
I ended up with a startline and love it.

I personally wouldnt buy a van without A/C , its meant to be a 'leisure vehicle' not a sweat box .

You don’t miss what you never had.
I’ve ran a T5.1 for over a decade without ac and I’ve never yearned for it.
My T6 doesn’t have it either and I’ve not once wished it had it yet.
Maybe if we toured Europe we would need ac. But I’ve no plans to do that as Scotland is so beautiful.

I agree buy the van that suits your needs. We use our Woofwagen to transport 5 dogs so the highline with A/Con was a must for travelling on hot days and at motorway speeds. As Mrs A says, "they can't take their fur coats off". The standard highline tail gate is also a really practical shelter for getting a through flow of air when parked up - it also takes an over tailgate awning.
