We will be starting the lining job on @Thoggs highline, twin slider, dash upgrade kombi soon so I have decided to put up a step by step of us carrying out the work for all to see in detail including the products we use to obtain the finish we achieve. Obviously we have a few trade secrets which I wont be revealing as we have worked hard to develop some unique ideas and methods at slidepods.
Hopefully this will act as a good guide for those that want to trim their own vans but also as an education for what to look for when visiting other company's that you may be thinking of commissioning to line your pride and joy (sadly we see many vans with awful lining where customers have paid more than we charge to do it).

Also I am hoping that @Thogg will take this time to review our work once we return his van to him.
(I would just like to add we have given Thogg no discount on our normal prices or any special treatment of any kind, he will be treated just like any of our normal customers with the exception of this thread)

Looking forward to seeing this after reading the other thread on sound deadening. Take my hat off to you guys for doing it, had I been younger I would have a go myself hence buying a Beach but then when I retire fully I might want a little hobby. :)

At least it means that you'll be able to see that it gets done properly. Not like those amateurs that did mine!

Lets all take a moment to travel back in time......................
after @Thogg made his initial contact with us he was sent a digital quote detailing all works he was interested in having us undertake on his van by Tracey our office manager. This included total costs for each work along with a breakdown of the payment schedual and descriptions of what materials we use and how we completer the work. Where appropriate we do sometimes add contingencies to works rather that pulling figures out of thin air to allow for our guys hourly rates if we are unsure how long a job will take. (eg running cables when another company has lined the van).

After this Thogg visited our workshops for an informal consultation / chat to get a measure of our works and us. (I assume this went well)

After informing us he would like to proceed we sent out his initial invoice and a rough guide as to when we could carry out the works.

Once payment was made we immediately designated the earliest possible workshop slot that was convenient to him. Tracey then produced a job sheet for all the works to be carried out on his van so we could allocate and order all the materials needed well in advance. This is also used once the van arrives by the guys in the workshop to make sure they carry out all the works paid for and to check details of the customers specific options.

When the van is delivered (we do like it when its clean thanks thogg) we complete a handover form detailing any notable scratches, dents, warning lights, trim scuffs etc etc and take high res images of the entire vehicle using a cannon dslr camera.

It is now sat outside the workshop getting very wen indeed!

@Thogg 's van is booked in for work to commence on monday. It will be started at 8.00am on monday morning. We have it booked in with us for a total of 5 working days.
@Thogg I'm sure you have noticed we have gone to the trouble of concealing your personal details and the prices you have paid from the images of your quotes and job sheets we posted earlier but I want everybody to know that I am 100% happy for you to post up the prices you have paid and the what is outlined in the details of your quotes and invoices for everyone to see if you want to.
