The Ford | T7 Conundrum

Passed a stock panel van New Transporter on the M25 today, and have to say it took me a while to realise what it was. Didn't seem to have any VW character and my general impression was it just looked cheap.
I'm no hard core VW enthusiast, I ended up here via SAABs and Volvos, but I think when the time comes it's not for me. Hopefully have many years left in the Caravelle.
On the other hand every time I pass a Buzz I really like the styling on them, just a shame they are not a tad larger.

Got chatting with a Buzz owner camping neighbour at a music festival this summer, he spent a couple of hours putting a tent up next to his van. By his own admission it’s too small to act as a campervan even as a sole occupant.
Yeah but we don't camp in ours as such, more 6 up on extended family road trips or fish chips by the sea in the lashing rain.
FFS have the done the same with the caddy too?
But the other way round - the Ford Connect is really a VW (I think).FFS have the done the same with the caddy too?

Me to got to love a caddy great little vans
Saw one in real life and up close today (the Ford badged one). Really couldn’t convince myself to appreciate the look.
With the Transit/Transporter I can almost think maybe one day, when they’ve given it a facelift and I’ve got over the shock.
But this Caddy gave me the same chills a 90s Nissan Bluebird does (which I thought would always hold the (my) title of ugliest car ever- until they brought out the Juke!).
This van does at least look roomy.
And looks are subjective so some people will no doubt like it.
I don’t doubt the reliability, I inherited a Mazda 323 that ran like new no matter how badly it was treated. I just had something against the Bluebird looks wise. Now you mention the SsangYong I might reorder the bottom of my list. We had a Marina estate at one point in that French mustard colour, another one you needed dark glasses for!
I'll raise you a Datsun Laurel 1977 vintage my dad bought when I was 12. He told me it was the Japanese version of a Mercedes saloon which I gladly conveyed to my savvy friends at school who put me right !

I remember being driven to St Tropez in it, both parents smoking away in over 30 degrees through the Lyon traffic jams. It had these unusual pillow things in the rear boot pillar, great for when you nodded off.....

I've seen similar RTC scenes like that !
