The Ford | T7 Conundrum

It's definitely a grower not a shower :inlove:  at first I thought wtf but each time I look at it I think it actually doesn't look as bad. Having the alloys black and stripes Def helps. Watch this space lads and lassies!

They were a good seller 25 years ago. They were a good compromises as a people carriers with three abreast seating you could have a full car of passengers and still have a boot for their luggage.

I'll raise you a Datsun Laurel 1977 vintage my dad bought when I was 12. He told me it was the Japanese version of a Mercedes saloon which I gladly conveyed to my savvy friends at school who put me right !
It was a right pig.....
I remember being driven to St Tropez in it, both parents smoking away in over 30 degrees through the Lyon traffic jams. It had these unusual pillow things in the rear boot pillar, great for when you nodded off.....

I actually quite like that. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so they say.

We've owned 2 of these. Made sense when the kids were smaller (4 girls) and they loved them, used to argue about who got to sit in the front between Mum & Dad.
I actually think they are a good idea in that situation. Better than those cars you see with occasional seats in the boot.
It is fugly though.

The Honda FRV was a much better looking solution.

Well, maybe just better looking… and had Honda reliability (and repair bills!)

We had a Scenic when the 3 boys were younger. To be fair it was fantastic for the kids. Cupboards/storage everywhere, 3 completely individual seats, fully adjustable, all with isofox.
The final nail in the coffin was when the middle one (7 at the time) asked if we could have a cool car!
Love the Transporter now, wouldn’t change it for the world.

Since we seem to have gone waayyyy off topic (probably my fault, sorry mods ).....
Maybe not the ugliest (although not pretty) but almost certainly the worst car I ever had the misfortune to drive, was the original Renault Espace. By comparison, a T6.1 on 16" wheels with stock suspension handles like an F1 car :D

We've had an FRV as well. Got to the point where kids are too tall to squeeze in the back or front middle seat where gear stick is so had to upgrade to T6 Caravelle
