Team Cherry Red

Afternoon Ladies and Gents. New to the forum as a new T6.1 owner here. Camperking Saint Tropez conversion with a few extras. happy to join Team Cherry Red.
Currently trying to decide what wheels to upgrade to. Anyone have OZ Racing Rally Van/ Rally Raid or Superturismo Dakars on their van?

@Mairtfallon my vote would be for the rally raids.

i’m in the same position as you with a cherry red and 16 inch clayton’s. I’m trying to decide whether to go and get them powder coated either matt black or satin black and stick some 225/65/r16 Michelin agilis crossclimate for a semi swamper look…. Although I can’t really afford it at the moment and the tires don’t need changing just yet.

Do you know what tyres you will be putting on?

After alot of tooing and froing, I am going for 18" Bola B12 Commercials with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 tyres. They give me the look I want, but are not so big that they'll disintegrate over my HS2-ridden country roads. The bonus is that they about £500 cheaper than the OZ Racing wheels.
They arrive on Monday, so will post a picture when I get them fitted.

Hello Team Cherry Red, I have been off the radar for a few days doing renovation work in one of the bedrooms, however I have managed to do a little bit on the van. I would like to call the van 'Red Fred' if that is available and not taken, please shout up if it is. Well
the bulkhead is out, I still have to remove the spot welded webs from the floor and half way up the door pillar. I eventually ordered some tyres, thanks to the support and direction that I received from this forum and had them fitted fitted to the new wheels, balanced and on the van. I need to either fit some centre caps or paint the centres of the stubs black to match the wheels - I would prefer to fit centre caps if I can find any that will fit. I have to lay off working on the van for a few days, maybe a week or so while I crack on with the work in the bedroom which is a priority task right now. I will be back on when I can report any progress. Meanwhile I am gathering the funds together to have my windows done, I intend to book in at Cosmic Vans Derby, as I am South of Nottingham. Stay safe every one.

Nice work well done! Are they vanshades? what is your impression of them please?
Hi and thank you. Yes they are Vanshades. I am very very plessed with them. The blinds on thr side windows with the opening section to them have the flyscreen incorporated so that I can have the windows slid back open and the screens will keep the mozzies out. The rear window of the tailgate only has the blind as it's not an opening window. I love them but choosing your colour will have you spoilt for choice.

Following on in my conversion thread. On Fri 1st April I set off at 05.30am from Nottingham to drive to a location on the South side of Bristol. The reason for the journey was to collect a 1 piece, 12mm, birch ply floor for the van. It is essentially 1 piece however there are two very small sections added using 'biscuit' joints. These two sections sit 1) just forward of the N/S rear wheel arch and 2) just inside the tailgate again on the N/S and are both about 4" wide and 8" long. The rest of the floor is one sheet of good quality ply. A one piece ply floor for a LWB van is a bit hard to find and not cheap. The company that supplied the floor is called T-Spoke Conversions. I can't speak highly enough of the two members of staff from the workshop that lifted the floor panel into the van and practically laid it for me. For this floor to fit you need to have removed the bulkhead metalwork and grind out the spot welds. The door floors for quite a wide variety of vans. I was home by 13.00hrs that day andthe floor was bonded - not screwed into place. I hope this info helps someone in the T6 family.

Probably about time I popped my cherry with a pic, and no better time than after the first time I have ever washed it!

Had it just over a year, it was a Kombi, and now a camper. It's been a self conversion apart from the pop top and windows.

Permission to join Team Red :)

I've had the van for around a month and only found this thread yesterday. Lots of small jobs in progress but the main one has to be wheels.

Wheels -any ideas welcome. Make, colour etc. I had originally thought about powder coating the Devonports in gloss black bit moving away from the idea. Wolfrace Munich in black is number 1 choice at the minute.

Love this colour - but black wheels are a no from me.
I‘ve got a black T6 and trying to decide on wheels too - but black is off the list as they just look like big black blobs with no definition and make the tyres look brown.
