T6 THQ Full LED Headlights

I have original fit LED Head Lamps and after constantly complaining to the supplying VW Dealer to adjust them as they where too low. After constant frustration of their lack of attention, I just adjusted them my self using the same method that I have used for years on other vehicles. Lined them up to a wall and adjusted them with screws. turned screw one way and up the other way and down. So whys it sometimes said they not be adjusted other than using some other plug in procedure. It has passed scrutiny and MOT's is a 2019 Caravelle. Little confused because I have heard it said before and concerning other modern vehicles also on other forum?:)

Hi all, sounds like THQ are no longer selling their full LED lights even to the trade at the moment…shame as I had my heart set on them😢

Thinking of going down the AliExpress route now…but there are so many reseller choices that I’m a bit baffled! Does anyone know if there are there actually any differences in the product?

I currently have the H4 candles and none of the options seem to suggest they are a direct replacement for these. The below eBay advert (for what looks to be the same from a British reseller) suggests an additional loom is required for replacement of H4s. They’re charging £££ for the resale though… £799 vs £460 - 600 depending on who you buy from off AliExpress.

Pardon our interruption...

I’m probably over thinking this, but any thoughts/ experiences with replacing H4s with these appreciated!

Steve
I just opened your link to find they’re discounted at the mo.
Also, they don’t seem to mention an extra charge for the H4 loom.

I had OEM LED headlights retrofitted.

After having new front struts I noticed light output didn’t have as much distance range as before.

I too used the same adjuster screws to raise headlights slightly and then asked MoT tester to check/align beams to the max height allowed.

All now great again.

OEM LED headlights need load level compensators fitted to one front and one rear suspension arm and I believe the cabin height adjuster is omitted on those with LEDs from new?

My cabin adjuster was disconnected when I had my system fitted, including said auto load compensators.

Hope this helps.

My LED lights are original fit from new. You are correct no internal adjustment wheel and yes he light level with the vehicle front to rear incitation to the road. It is just that on occasion I hear or read somewhere that the beam can not or should not be manually adjusted or corrected via the screws. It is possible that I misunderstand but I also have read similar things on other vehicle form. I just wonder as I found it quite easy via the normal but old fashioned way by wall or garage door.

You mean up and down adjustments?
No, I do mean left/right.
As they're dialled in for LHD vehicles, they're slightly biased towards the right - off the road if you were in Europe/US.
But there is an adjustment screw to have them pointing to the centre, which won't go any further (towards the left) - according to the seller. I've seen the screw and next time I have the bumper off I'll have a play about and see how effective it is.

It's MOT time again soon, so I'll find out if that's an issue or not - no negative feedback from other drivers so far, but I do have them quite low to be extra cautious.

The up/down is very accessible and works as normal. Also from the cab, as normal.

Read further up bud, I've been speaking with Andy at THQ. He's said they had a problem with the bcm sending error codes. They'll be available, but its looking like another year
Just butting in.. with these LED's... From THQ & Chris @The Van Cave
if i got the light switch on auto, when it's dark, turn the ignition/van on & i will get the light error on the dash.. switch the auto light switch off, start up & there's no error lights.. that's what i'm doing... doesn't bother me.

I took a piggyback fuse out, which removes the start up sequence altogether, and also loses the error totally.

Something to think about doing..

The sequence is nice obviously but realistically I only ever see it myself when I’m parked in front of windows. So it’s pretty much for everyone else’s benefit. Whereas the error I saw every bloody time 😅

Appreciate leaving the auto lights on & the error being gone way more than I do hoping a stranger liked the start up dance :think smile bounce:

I believe the issue can be cured by using VCDS to set "LED lights installed", but given that not everybody has access to VCDS, it is not technically a plug and play solution.
