I'm not sure that works pal, think THQ tried it. On the 3 sets they gave away for testing, 2 were fine and 1 sent the error code.

It's the auto headlights throwing the error code onto the bcm.

The other two models had auto headlights, but we're lower spec vans (startline) etc so not too sure.
 
Interesting. I did have a conversation about that at Camper Mart and that was considered to be the fix

You can disable bulb warnings by coding them out using VCDS (or other OBD tools), which is what I did. The errors will still persist in the vehicle when performing a scan though
 
Ok, so do you think the wife wont notice me disappearing to the midlands for a day and slightly different eyes on the van or should I tell her?

They say in the comments that they’re working on a self install model without the poncey startup (that you can’t see when you’re in the van..)
Also say they’re much brighter than others OEM, and that they dont have to be adjusted for euro driving? I did think that LED lights had to be adjusted? OEM versions have an abroad mode? If that’s the case wouldn’t these be fine for LHD vans too?
 
The ott startup happens when you unlock it doesn’t it not when you start the van?

My current v3 lights have the drl etc light when unlocked so I’m assuming it’ll do it then and I’ll have some chance of seeing it once in a while. The major advantage of these (but applies to virtually every other light on the market equally) is that people will hopefully be able to see me indicating from the front on sunny days!

That aside, anyone interested in some great THQ v3 lights with a brand new HID kit? PM or lookout on the sales page

There's a whole thread on this subject and the answer, IIRC, was "it depends". :cool:
