Wanted T6 Electric Side Steps

@Nev-D if you’re thinking of changing your springs (to go lower) for a softer ride, then I’m confident you’ll need new shocks too. Speak with Steve @CRS Performance.... he’s a suspension specialist and will be able to work with you to get the results you want
Thanks for the heads up

Just joined this forum & came across this thread; although it's a bit old now. I've watched a couple of video's on these electric sidesteps & look great, just very pricey. Has anyone actually had them fitted & if so, what are your thoughts & are they worth the money?

Also, do these offer any protection, from curb scuffs or car doors being opened into your van, like fixed side bars/steps are supposed to, as they're tucked away when the doors are closed? Another thought, if you park close to a high curb, then open the door, could these steps hit the curb when lowered? So whilst very nice, & very expensive, are they actually practical?

Thanks

Just a bit of info about the VAT side for disabled people. unfortunately because these have not been designed specifically for the disabled market you are on very sketchy ground with regard to not paying VAT. You would need to get a disability company to supply it to you to be closer to 100% safe with the VAT rules But even then it’s still not certain because it is designed for the mass market.

Its a nightmare.

as for your question about high kerbs, well we have a van that was adapted for my wife from new and that has a side step that slides out (drivers door only) and we have to take high kerbs into consideration because if something gets in the way the step doesn’t open properly and you have to go into a pain in the arse process to reset it. I imagine it would be the same issue with most of these devices.

T6 Electric Side Steps
I am currently disabled myself and I am finding it harder for myself and my wife who now has Rheumatoid Arthritis to get into and out of our T6 T32 and I am thinking of getting either the Thule electric steps that are provided on Ex Disabled/Mobility vans or the full length electric automatic steps that are currently being sold by Pegasus in Bristol and by Van-Tech but they are not cheap at around over £900,
I know that there will be a lot of owners who buy the VW Transporter disabled vans to convert them into campers so its to them we are reaching out to see If we can source something to help us to continue to enjoy our T6 then we would be very grateful,
Preferably I would like to get a full length electric side steps that way we can use the twin side doors on our T6 for when we are out and about once this pandemic is over hopefully before we pop our clogs this is,
If you have something that might interest us them let us know and we will get back to you asap. Cheers
If you are registered as disabled you should be taxed zero on supply and fitting of any unit saving you 20%
