quick question about the bracket guys - are the bolts held on with rivnuts or do you have to gain access to the inside of the van ?View attachment 9681

I looked into this last night. The image you have posted is how you connect the awning to a reimo rail. This setup is for when you have an aftermarket pop top fitted and can't access the factory roof rack holes in the gutter (this is the setup I will be installing as I have an sca fitted). You have to drill the van for the reimo and also for the top part of the bracket (self tapping screws for reimo rail and I guessed for bracket too although the diagram looks like a rivnut)

Alternatively if you don't have a pop top you can use a different bracket to utilise the existing roof rack bolt holes. This means you don't have to drill the van and don't need the reimo rail.

If you have a vw factory pop top there's a different bracket again to utilise the 3 bolts on the outside of the hinge

Hmm that's interesting @Davenjo , all my googling last night had me thinking I needed a reimo rail and reimo rail brackets. Do you know what bracket that is? Potential saving of £220 if I don't need the reimo

I'd always assumed it was the standard Fiamma adapter?? Looks like the one below minus the bit that drops into the gutter channel?

Yeah that's the one that utilises the gutter holes. I used this site here Which Fiamma Awning? | A guide for VW Transporter T5 and can't see those brackets. They look a bit like the Vivaro ones near the bottom but I can't be sure - Fiamma Kit Trafic - Vivaro

Agreed, the Vivaro/Traffic ones seems to have the closest profile to mine. Might be worth speaking to someone who sell Fiamma so see what others use.

Yer mine is a reimo roof and reimo rail so I need the one in picture .. so they are self tappers not rivnuts - not to kean on selftappers, does it all come in the kit?

@Floor Fit I've not bought it yet so not sure what is supplied but I'm tempted to drill a bigger hole and use a rivnut instead of a self tapper
