Hello everyone
We have a T6 204 2017 converted in 2018 to camper van it’s only got 25k on the clock we don’t use it as a daily driver we just use it for trips long journey stuff. Have noticed recently the fan kicking in when on some trips. Oil temp is 95c water 90c. It’s always been serviced with oil and filter change no matter what the mileage at vw - up to last year as they dont extended warranties on van our age now. So it will be independent serviced from now on. Any ideas why the fan is kicking in?

Nice one 👍 the 204’s a cracking engine.

They’ve got loads of pull and feel properly lively for a van, especially if it’s DSG. Big difference compared to the lower powered ones—you definitely notice it when you put your foot down.

Only thing I’ve really heard people mention is they can be a bit thirsty around town, and like most newer diesels they prefer a decent run now and then because of the DPF. Nothing unusual though.

If it’s been well looked after, I wouldn’t overthink it. Just get out and enjoy it 😄

No need to worry, it's just a DPF Regen.

There's a thread on here explaining it all
