Hi all, our Easter trip in our T6 (2018 plate, 204 CXEB on about 69k miles) got off to a bad start with a flashing coil light and what I assume was limp mode, just after arriving on the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam.
For context, we had just completed an 80 minute drive from York to Hull and as a DPF regen started just before we arrived in Hull, I kept driving until it completed (so the engine temp would have been higher). Throughout the dpf regeneration, the oil temperature was generally around 100, and didn't rise above 104. The water temperature needle stayed at 90 and didn't read high. I then stopped and filled up with diesel (as it's cheaper in UK than Netherlands), then made another short journey. We then checked in and drove straight onto the ferry without stopping the engine, but after stopping, we were asked to move the van slightly. When I re-started the engine on the ferry to make that short move, it was sluggish to start and the flashing coil started. I hoped all might be OK after the van had cooled down when we drove off the ferry in the morning, but we still had the flashing coil light (no EML), so we stopped straight away and called for roadside assistance and we were taken to a depot and had onward travel arrangements made. (no attempt to diagnose/fix the van)
I've got a Carista OBD reader, so was able to get the following error codes from Carista/Car Scanner apps:
P065100 → 5V reference circuit
P22D400 → Intake Air Temp sensor
U112300 / U112100 → ECU communication faults
P010100, P13D500, P157000
I attempted to clear these and the codes that returned were: P22D400, U112300, P065100, U112100 - i only turned the ignition on to check these, but didn''t fire the engine.
I also looked at some of the values from obd2 live data while we waited at passport control. These were showing:
Intake manifold pressure - 101kpa
Engine rpm - 1200 (while idling in queue)
Intake air temp - 33 degrees C
Air mass value - 0.00 g/s
Fuel rail pressure - 35100kpa
Ambient air pressure - 101kpa
Battery voltage seen by ECU 14.46V
Any ideas/suggestions about what the issue may be and what my next steps should be in terms of correct diagnosis and repair?
