T6.1 Discover Media Head Unit access

Does anyone know how to access the Discover Media head unit please?
I have a T6.1 2022 and I want to add rear speakers and I believe that the Discover Media Navigation System has a separate head unit. I have been looking around for pictures or videos but cannot find anything.

Thanks @reserves , I did see this but unfortunately the Discover is different and I found out the head unit is buried behind the gear stick area of the dash

Ahh. Darn. Not good news for me as wanted to add a small amp.

To be clear, are you talking about this unit?

I wanted to add a quad lock to small amp to the back of it.

Yes that’s the one, you don’t take the screen out at all but have to remove the glove box and the shroud around the gear leaver. The head unit slides out towards the left; as usual with VW it is more about the confidence with removing all the clips.

TBH, I didn’t risk it and got someone who knew what they were doing to do it for me. He did the fitting of the Quadlock, and recoded the unit to accept the rear speakers.

yeah, seems like I’ll have to take the glovebox and the screen out too.

Need to attach the patching quad lock to the unit behind the glovebox and remove the screen to place the amp behind it.

Looking at this video seems I might have to remove the gear surround to unplug the Quadlock

What seemed like an easy job is now making me think of heading to @Absolut5 and getting them to do it

Not spoke to them about it to be honest.

I was hoping it was a straight forward job as I have all the equipment already.

I've done it all before but with a T6, should be ok but the T6.1 seems a bit more involved
