T28 T30 T32 Ride Quality

Hi

I am now in the market to purchase a T6 Highline DSG PV/Kombi van. I currently run a T5 T30 LWB and have not had it that long but I am unimpressed with the ride quality and gearbox. I am led to believe that the T6 is much refined in most aspects including the suspension/ride quality. Does anyone here have any experience in the differing ride qualities between the differing weight classes ie T28 T30 T32 or are they all the same other than being able to carry more axle weight.

Most T6 kombis are now being built on the T32 so if I want as best ride quality as possible do I opt for T28 PV Highline and convert to kombi spec.

Any comments much appreciated

Hi, my t32 Kombi just arrived and I would say driving it round empty it's quiet hard on the Suspension!
I've got on order some H&R 50 mm springs (the lower weight rated ones) which I'm hoping with soften it up a touch, I'll post on here when there on.
As for DSG it's amazing, better than my old 120 k Audi A6 3.0 auto

I will only say this as you are a relatively new member, so please do not take offence..

Please be aware of the legal implications of fitting under rated suspension components as well as wheels etc to a t32.. It's covered elsewhere on the forum in great detail.. If you are aware.. Then it's your choice..

I have a T32 Kombi DSG, lowered on 40mm H&R springs (correctly rated). I previously owned a T32 and when lightly loaded I found the ride to be " jittery" is the best word I can think of. The T6 was the same, so I lowered it, which improved the handling massively, and took out that liveliness in the ride……..but……the ride is hard and crashy, perfectly nice with a full load, but not very pleasant when not. I'm not impressed, and am now thinking of new shocks at some point, and possibly a higher profile tyre when they are due for renewal .

are these the springs you fitted?... NEW VW T6 TRANSPORTER CARAVELLE 15> H&R LOWERING SPORTS SPRINGS 40MM KIT 29270-4

Some people report a decent improvement in ride quality but some dont. I wonder if its just down to personal expectations. I am not looking for SUV style comfort and ride quality but want to eliminate the commercial van feel of the ride. Think I am going to go down to the local VW Van Centre and blag a test drive of both the T28 PV and a T32 kombi.

Regards to all

50 mm H&R update..........so not saying I've fitted lower weight rated springs to a t32 definitely not saying it's dropped pretty much bang on 50 mm all round and rides loads more forgiving, so much so it doesn't feel like my teeth will fall every time I drive over a pebble!
Result for the money ✌️

Thanks for the feedback. Great stuff. Where they the springs for the T28?

I have hopefully arranged a test drive of a T32 Kombi at VW Manchester tomorrow all being well.

Yes basically they are the t28 ones, from what I can see with the H&R 50 mm ones there are only two sets. Up to certain axle weights and then above, so yes there are soft set
