I realise this can only be claimed on a new van, but what do HMRC class as a new van? Is, as I suspect a pre reg with delivery miles not new enough to qualify and that they will want to see you as the first name on the V5?

I’d usually ask my accountant and ultimately will run it past him but he’s in hospital at the moment.

Yes that's correct. A pre-reg van is still classed as a second hand van, irrespective of the fact it might only have delivery mileage.

That would normally be the case, but not in the current climate.
