Hi All

Looking to get a stove for the odd night when I will cook outside and know the Cadac Safari is highly rated! Have a friend who works for an online camping store and means I get a really good price which is nice but they don't stock Cadac. Been recommended a Coleman? Anyone know if they are any good? And which is the best one to cook the odd breakfast and maybe barbecue etc? Don't want something so small I can't cook on it but don't want anything too big taking up space!!!!

Any advice great!

Thank you

Nick

I've got a cadac safari and it's a good size for 2 of us, but I think I'd struggle to cook a decent breakfast for 4 adults on one.
Noe sure about Coleman, but I think the camping gaz party grill is similar.

I'm a Cadac convert, having started with a Grillogas a few years ago and recently upgraded to the larger Carri Chef 2. We originally went for Cadac as there was nothing similar we know of out there but others have started to follow suit and very similar models are now out there, e.g. the Coleman Unisex Party Grill looks to be the equivalent of the Cadac Safari Chef you mention. As for brand, I knew about Coleman well before I knew about Cadac and, among over things, have had a tent and a couple of stoves over the years from them - very good kit. If the price is right via your mate then I would say it is worth a punt. (@Chopman - I saw your "cadaver" post before you amend it - made me LOL!).

I'm another contemplating the cadac or similar.
In the garden I've got a Weber Q2000 grill and can get a few extras for going away for about £100. That with the gas bottle will be become sizable but it's making use of something I already have.
I really liked the cadac I saw @Davenjo using at busfest when they served up a tasty paella from it but trying to decide if the extra cost is worth it.
I may also research the Colman if reviews are good.

Got the carri chef 2, not used it yet, dying to try it. But gotta fill the gas tank on the van first, and since the van is about to disappear for a couple of weeks, it’s gonna be a little while until I get to try.

I used to have a carry chef when camping with the kids, but it was too big for just the two of us.
I run mine off the vans lpg tank - works great and LPG seems much cheaper than bottled gas.
