Yes it is. I took my seatbelt off as I was actually pulled up on my drive way and needed to grab my phone but the engine had already stopped and the stop start symbol was also already showing as not operating. The seatbelt symbol although well spotted is a red herring here. There is a red warning light on the dash - is it about seat belt being off?

Battery health might be fine. But if its being drained constantly by an adaption shorting or malfucntioning, erm, it wont stop/start.
Worth noting that not even such a journey doesn't fully charge a drained battery. It's battery's charge acceptance which limits charging - there is no way to force battery to accept more charge. Typically a drained battery needs about 10 hours to get at 80% level. The 20 hours chargers do is top up the battery as for the last 20% the charge acceptance rate is already quite low.I have done massive journeys (150 miles or so) - stop start wont turn on and off.

Thank you @mmi for all of you useful help and continued support with this.Quiescent current has exceeded the set limit pretty much every day - 33 times sincw March 21st. So what happened on March 20-21 as possibly the fault register was cleared then? Also during that period the accumulated mileage was fairly low (1120 km = perhaps only 20 running hours) thus quite possibly the battery couldn't catch up with everyday drain. At the first incident voltage was only 12.0 V ignition OFF. Also worth noting the fault counter is stepped up only once per "sleeping session".
Really, we have never come across my issues around maintenance. Have you got any examples as you have me REALLY worried now. That's quite ironic considering Motability's no own propensity to cut maintenance corners when they think they can get away with it.
Would love to hear what you say off the record and not on a public forum.I know doubly - as my Sister being a Motability customer, and my Brother-in-Law that owns his own garage and MOT station with whom Motability have an account.
I wouldn't worry unduly as a customer - albeit keep your eyes peeled - but with what I've heard I'm not daft enough to think Motability vehicles are the super-well maintained safe used buy that some people think they are.
Hope you finally have a positive outcome.
I initially typed satisfactory, but then thought better of it.
You’ve been messed around for far too long for just a replacement batteryto be satisfactory.
I hope suitable recompense gets sorted, and soon.
Andy
It is possible that you have a less than helpful dealership but the RAC has also had it problems over the years! I think the most famous being connected with replacing batteries funnily enough. It was a big enough problem to have TV coverage. Quite a few years ago now and they are probably a very good organisation today.Ok here is an update, I spoke with Motability after they got the DEKRA engineers report. They asked if i wanted to take it or the vw dealers or if I would prefer teh RAC to swap it. Obviously I said the RAC as I had no faith in the dealership. The RAC came the next day and swapped the battery.
Now this is the really weird thing. Ever since the battery was swapped, the stop start has worked perfectly every time. It is almost like we were right and the battery was the cause all along and also it was clearly faulty before the warranty ran out.
Motability are not happy and I await their next update.
Oh and the RAC engineer when I mentioned the vw dealership in question, well all I will say is that he was less than complimentary about them![]()

They all have problems, the RAC was commenting based on the problems he had with them as a customer himself. Can you change Dealership do you have that freedom with Motability? There are people not that far away from you "Dave" does stuff with our kit and knows a thing or many about systems radio etc I will try to recall his nom de plumeThey all have problems, the RAC was commenting based on the problems he had with them as a customer himself.
