Standard rear shock absorbers

I have a 2017 Transporter SWB which I am lower by 40mm all round with lowering springs only. The rear shocks I want to replace with OEM ones. Looked around and can get delivery mileage ones at a good price.
The thing that confuses me is part numbers. None genuine ones state they replace 7LA 513029A, 7LA 513029C ,7LA 513029D ,7LA 513029E

Can anybody please tell me what A C D E mean

Sorry, can’t help you with the codes but personally wouldn’t recommend OEM shocks with lowered springs. My 2018 T28 was lowered 40mm with springs only by the previous owner and the ride is shocking. The shocks just don’t cope well with the lowered springs, giving a very crashy ride and poorly controlled damping. As soon as I can justify the cost I will be looking to get something like Koni Active shocks fitted to sort the ride and handling. Might be worth getting in touch with Steve from CRS for some pro advice.

If you want to replace with OEM equipment go back to standard springs and shock absorbers. As you have highlighted they are available at giveaway prices.
Once you accept that your van isn’t a Ferrari or unlikely to be one no matter how much you spend it’s a good option that costs ‘peanuts’

Yes! half arsed job doing it springs only - terribly crashy. I'm also waiting for the opportunity to do the job properly.

Lowering springs do need a sporty shorter shock there is no doubt, ride is mush better and more stable , I have KW sport short shocks in stock @ £60.00 plus vat each kind of a no brainer really .

If you really want standard as new shocks come and collect some i have about 30 here ( taking up good space ha ha _) No charge

Thanks, I think I will go for the advice from a specialist CRS Performance. Will be in touch with them shortly

Hi all, I'm trying to work out what shocks and springs I've got on my van so I can work out what would be a good replacement. As you can see from the photos, they're in bad shape! Can anyone identify if they are OEM shocks? The springs I believe are lowering springs according to previous owner but I don't know which ones.PXL_20230223_140405295.jpgPXL_20230205_155544697.jpgPXL_20230221_130251581.jpgPXL_20230221_130630183.jpgPXL_20230223_140545592.jpg
