I have just purchased VCDS (all new to me) and on scanning, I have 2 fault codes I cant shift.

any advice or help as to where to start would be great

The missing message fault, what that is saying is that it is failing to send or receive a message/signal from somewhere else in the vehicle so its prob related to the other error so i would concentrate on that one

Have you tried reseting the faults?
Do they come back ?
Its pointing at your alarm horn, does your alarm ? Have you tried setting it off ?
Can VCDS communicate with it ?
 
On a separate note your batt voltage is showing 14.4V ? Is your engine running ?
Never do anything with the engine running just turn the key on and leave engine off (unless you are trying to read figures from the engine etc)

Just remember the golden rules and always always take a full scan of your van and save it in a safe place before doing anything so you have a backup !

I see what i can find.
I was concentrating on the missing message fault.
 
I think that one will disappear when you fix the other issue
Just remember these codes/descriptions are often very quirky and can be something totally different to the description or even the reverse of what its saying so keep an open mind and do plenty of research/ground work and if all else fails just tag @mmi and he will probably fix it for you :laugh::rofl:
 
Update
On looking at the scan above i realised the central electric module has 5 sub modules
I had a look again in vcds and can get in to the first 3 modules but cant see 4 and 5 in the drop down in long coding
Is this normal or part of the fault anyone know?
I had a look in the security settings but with my mouse over the box there was only a code for adaptions.
Still searching google but no joy yet i am trying to work out if it is a cabling issue or component/software issue befour i go near the dealer
