Spring replacement - please talk to me like I'm stupid

Bought a T28 camper conversion in June and we've put about 6000 miles on since - it's our only vehicle for family of 3 plus dog so it gets used and abused. Pic included just cuz...

We have 20 inch wheels and I realised the other day the rear alignment is WAY off (down to canvas on inside wall). Turns out the spring is gone and it's been riding on the shock only - explains why the ride has been awful. Mechanic reckons the other three springs won't make it through summer - cheap and not fit for purpose.

Took it to a conversion specialist and unfortunately he spoke to me like I had a clue what I was talking about - the various brands, lowering options etc. Then send me off to source my own parts, which he will fit.

Only problem is I have no idea what I'm looking for - basically I was a robust "fit and forget" option that looks decent but is appropriate for a family vehicle getting chucked about Scotland/UK roads. Would compromise looks for comfort to a certain extent, and I'd say we're up near the weight limit fairly regularly by the time kids, water, fuel, bikes, kayak etc are all on board. Don't want to blow a fortune but happy to invest if it means less trouble later.MVIMG_20200828_201922.jpg

I know I could trawl the threads and try and work this out myself, but it feels like there's a lot of experts on here - anyone able to give me some good options/advice?

Just chat to Steve at @CRS Performance , he’ll sort you out. He’s based near Cannock mind, so not close to you, but he might know someone local to you who could fit. Suspension is an area I don’t scrimp on as you feel it every second of the drive.
Good luck resolving.

Buy some stock secondhand springs or complete units, plenty available very cheap, possibly T32 on the rear as you have a camper conversion.
Lowering a van is compromising the travel available.

Oi Stupid!

(well, you did ask...!)

Welcome to the forum. Exactly as @DXX advised! People on this forum are frequently upgrading, so you might even pick up a T30 or T32 set of standard springs for free.
Then, as @huw169 says, speak with @CRS Performance and you’ll get a good steer on how improvements to ride quality can be achieved. But, that can all be done after you’ve finished converting etc.

Hi @NiallS ...Not Stupid..Your on a learning curve...with knowledge comes power...Having had my set up upgraded by @CRS Performance after he listen to my needs the Van is a very different vehicle....
All our needs are different but one word of advice...explain exactly what you expect..and let him know what you carry like the bikes on the back....I’m sure if you can’t get to him he can get the bits to you
the answer to your quest is a post away :)
