Bought a T28 camper conversion in June and we've put about 6000 miles on since - it's our only vehicle for family of 3 plus dog so it gets used and abused. Pic included just cuz...
We have 20 inch wheels and I realised the other day the rear alignment is WAY off (down to canvas on inside wall). Turns out the spring is gone and it's been riding on the shock only - explains why the ride has been awful. Mechanic reckons the other three springs won't make it through summer - cheap and not fit for purpose.
Took it to a conversion specialist and unfortunately he spoke to me like I had a clue what I was talking about - the various brands, lowering options etc. Then send me off to source my own parts, which he will fit.
Only problem is I have no idea what I'm looking for - basically I was a robust "fit and forget" option that looks decent but is appropriate for a family vehicle getting chucked about Scotland/UK roads. Would compromise looks for comfort to a certain extent, and I'd say we're up near the weight limit fairly regularly by the time kids, water, fuel, bikes, kayak etc are all on board. Don't want to blow a fortune but happy to invest if it means less trouble later.
I know I could trawl the threads and try and work this out myself, but it feels like there's a lot of experts on here - anyone able to give me some good options/advice?
