Solar panel bonding method

Hello.
I’m investigating which type of Sikaflex I should use to bond the aero panels upon which I’ll fix my 325W rigid solar panel.
I purchased two sets of the black aero panels from Batteries and Solar

The panel is large, 1m x 1.7m so I want to make sure there’s no chance of it coming off

I have a Westdubs pop top that is painted silver.
I've read you can get a primer similar to the bonding agent used to prime the window area when bonding windows. Is this required or will a Sikaflex type on its own suffice?
Thanks
Ollie.

Nice panel....

I like the streamline edge....

That’s not actually the panel:) - just the aero mounts. The panel I have is nearly twice the size - so I need to use two of the mounting brackets front and rear. I’ll cut the second one to length so that combined they are 1000mm.

I only hope my installation looks as neat!!

I'm thinking of doing something similar, how did you get on? Have you got any photos of the complete job?

Not yet - I tried to get the installer of the original panel to rectify the many issues with the van, and replace the failed solar panel. After many assurances my van would be taken care of in early November I've yet to hear from the toe rag.

So now I'm considering what to do - my concerns with this panel are that it might be too heavy for the lifting gas struts.
I love the idea of all the power, but still need to make a decision.

I need to find a specialist and have a chat............
