So what does everyone do for a living?

I’m currently an AAP (what used to be known as an Ambulance Technician) and an apprentice paramedic, uni finishing on Friday and fingers crossed, qualifying fully in November.
A bobby who retired same time as me went to work on the ambo. First week out of training they started messing his shifts about so he quit.

You'd think that after investing all those resources in training their staff they'd treat them a little better, but I guess theyre not used to staff having the financial wherewithall to be able to tell them where to stick their job on a whim.

Our eldest went through Paramedic training and now she's been promoted to 'controller', earning a decent wage. My Mrs is now in her 3rd month of NHS full paid sickness following her mothers demise. In stark comparison to mine, what an employer the NHS is!

Is that like team leader or unit manager?

Every ambulance service uses different terminology

I took great delight in telling my then manager I was retiring early due to their continued BS. They said "we don't believe you". I cashed in 42 years of final salary pension. I'm not the smartest in the world, but I did take note of the "elders" I worked with over the years telling me to invest in my pension.

Ha ha, tell me about it! I don’t work in Chippenham…I’m just outside Trowbridge….Dusty Ape Coffee
Just checked out the website, I might pop in one Friday as I work on the other side or Trowvegas (White horse Industrial Estate)
I am partial to an Ethiopian and Guatemalan coffee.

Would be great to see you….we have both! The Guatemalan El Fogon is one of the ones on espresso at the min, along with the house Molten Toffee and the Brazilian Cruzeiro.
