She lives as this morning I finally got my Bonnie sorted as I found a post on the Triumph rat forum how to set the carbs up on a Triumph T140V, so 1 hour later all set up and running beautifully, took her out on about 8 mile run and no misfires just running beautifully. It doesn’t have the speed or acceleration of my 900 Thunderbird but I just love it,
It’s taken me over 18 months to sort the problem but worth waiting for so now Two beauties on the road.

What are people’s thoughts on the Moto Guzzi V85TT as I’m thinking of part exchanging my 76 Bonneville for one of these.

I like them. I have the V7 with the 850 engine and it’s very characterful. The V85 gets a better tune and components so has more power and torque.
On the MGOC forum some don’t like the fuelling at low speeds but that seems to be a common gripe with many new bikes. Don’t bother with the Mistral tuning box as it’s too simple so not a great fix. I think updates to the ecu made improvements (should be done by dealer as part of a service or new bikes will have it anyway).

A friend has ridden his to the factory in Italy and another year to Morocco and the Sahara - no trouble at all.

Some good deals on them at the moment.

I’m looking at one as well to replace my KTM 390 adv.
if it’s a new one the new heads/ECU fuelling map is supposed to be an improvement & the TT travel’s screen & deflectors are supposed to help quite a bit C/w the TT.

I just prefer the TT’s paint jobs but would want the heated grips/centrestand/deflectors etc of the TT travel:rolleyes:
 
Very long time since I last coked a leg over a bike but Moto Guzzi used to make very fine bikes for both touring and sport. Long legged covered mileage with ease. I remember the early Le Mans Moto Guzzi Le Mans - Wikipedia I think that the foot brake operated one front and one rear disc and the hand a front disk. Shaft driven where quite reliable compared to many Italian bikes of the time. I imagine that the modern Moto Gussi are a whole lot better all-round. Definitely better than a Triumph Bonneville I would have thought, never liked them,:) the Trident was a better machine, go for Gussi.
 
I’d love to try an MGX-21.
Huge cruisers like that are not normally my thing but that one hits different.

Mind you I had a lovely bumble around the Cotswolds on the V7 yesterday and in good weather you can’t be a nice naked.
 
Absolutely gutted I’ve been to see the Guzzi at Colwyn bay motorcycles and what a lovely machine it’s a real beauty but when they rolled it out for me to sit on it was a bit to tall for me and I couldn’t put my feet flat on the floor, and with breaking my leg last year I didn’t feel confident sitting on it at all. :cry::cry::cry::(

It is not essential to have both feet firmly flat on the floor just micro slide slightly to one side. BMW used to have very high seat back in the day but Guzzies usually had lower seats. I think that MB Horizontally opposed twins needed to lift the engine slightly to allow for the additional width of the cylinders and heads the V formation of the Guzzi allowed a slightly lower engine and lower seat. Could always remove a little padding from under the bum or decrease the width slightly All from a diminishing memory. Plenty of short arses ride or rode big bikes! :)

Maybe try the v7 they have a lower seat , or a Ducati scrambler, I have a Desert sled which is high but the others in the range are low and amazingly fun bikes
