The wheels on mine look a bit sorry for themselves and I’m debating what to do, is it worth getting a refurb (looks to be about £350 for all refurbed). I’m also missing the centre cap of one. Also the bolts are all rusty so I’m debating swapping those out too.

Guess it all depends on on parking skills - if that was a previous owner that learned them or you now have your eye in when parking I’d probably look to get them refurbed - still cheaper than a new set. I’d be half tempted to see if there are covers that will fit the bolts.

If you’re the one kerbing it and still not used to the width of the van, why bother?

It’s the previous owner. I have Kerbed previous vehicles before but not this one.

I’ve never had aftermarket alloys before, will weather damaged the metal under the paint where it’s worn away?

Thanks, I didn’t know you could get these. Ill order some after I measure up my nuts 🤔
It's either 17mm or 19mm socket which is the size that fits your Bolt Heads.
Picture of mine fitted. Wasn't expecting great things, but actually not upset. Not suitable for locking wheel bolts though, as I recall.

@Sim667 It would help to see a side view of your van and wheels and whether you're thinking lowered or swamper look.
Also helps if you've seen vans that you like the look of so you can pick and choose from them and there's regularly wheels in all sizes and styles that come up in the for sale section.
If it was me I'd respray them at home as without trying to sound smarmy they're a budget wheel/tyre combo and that £350 would go a fair way towards something spiffier. :geek:

I kerbed my Golf once just not realising one kerbstone was leaning into the road so much - not the best noise to hear but these things happen.

As for effects on the metal it will oxidise slightly (which technically is a protective coating in its own right on some metals) and may have started loosening the bond with the paint/powder coating locally but the refurbishment will sort all that. From that photo you provided there isn’t a great deal of flaking paint from what I can see, just the grooved metal which should be no problem for a professional restorer.

Worth doing fairly soon though to stop any future decline.

I was thinking this and that’s why I’m trying to work out what I could do. I’m probably getting excited because it’s new but really I need to do the Dayvan conversion else. But I was worried about the wheels getting knackered under the paint. If it wasn’t modelled the way it is I’d have gone swamper but it’s got front splitter, rear spoiler and side bars, so I guess it’s sporty. My reservation about new wheels is then new tyres and it ends up costing a load.

The alternative I’d thought is wheel refurb and maybe a caliper paint as those look a bit rusty too.

I’m also a little bit confused about load rating, I think these wheels are the Calibre Exile-R which are load rated to 815kg (I could be wrong about what they are), which seems low for a T32

Can always get the refurb done now as it’s the cheapest option- although check your load rating potential issue first, then save for a new set when the rest of the van is done - you could then either sell the refurbished wheels or keep them as a winter set if you have room
