Service Plans

I'm close to buying my next van, and was just checking about adding a service plan, typed all the info in, and I was informed it currently has a plan, and to contact my local stealers?
I didnt think they were transferrable? Reading up, I gather if its been paid up front it could be transferred, is this the case?
Van in question is just under a year old, and I'm under the impression the remainder of the warranty transfers?

How did you get on with this? Im in exactly the same situation. I havent calles arnold clark, i will when i get a chance.

If I’m honest I transferred no issues but didn’t use it. My dealership lost all my faith years ago on a previous van. Just took it to my indi specialist who’s never let me down in the 8 years of using him. I just see it as I didn’t pay for the service plan so no skin off my nose and wasn’t going to take it there just because it was a freebie

I got mine transferred. No issues, just go through VW finance services. Did the same on the ID3.
Wouldn't bother phoning Arnold Clark.

I've phoned VWFS twice, they've asked for proof of ownership, sent through and as of yet heard nothing....

I registered online and was done over a week. Being registered also makes it easier to book MOT's and services as you get to see the open time slots.

e-mail received: apparently documentation has been forwarded to the transfer team

An All-In policy was sold to me by my local dealer when I took my T6 (CXEB) in for some work. It was new to me at the time — only four years old and with a comprehensive VW service history. I was told that it qualified for the All-In service plan. This came as a pleasant surprise, so I took up the offer for added peace of mind.

Unfortunately, within the second year, I had to make a claim on the policy due to high oil consumption. The claim was denied on the grounds that a similar claim had been made by the previous owner. A subsequent conversation revealed that VW Financial Services do not log claim information on the same system that dealers use to confirm and validate new All-In policy sales. Due to customer confidentiality policies, details of the previous claim couldn’t be shared with me.

However, my post is simply to warn all potential All-In policy purchasers — whether through a vehicle/policy transfer or a new purchase for a used vehicle — that the warranty aspect of the policy could be effectively worthless. This situation is now likely to turn ugly, as Volkswagen, the dealer, VWFS, and VW Warranty all deny responsibility.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

Presumably then, remedial work was carried out when the original claim was made, so was that work not evident in the van's service history?

Good morning Bav, Thank you for the response. Further digging by the dealer has revealed that two consumptions tests were completed

It was not included in the information pack I was handed when I purchased the van nor was it mentioned when the ALL-IN policy was sold to me. Only recently has the dealer acknowledged two oil consumption tests were completed prior to my ownership, however both were within specification so no remediation was completed.

Seems odd that the outcome of the testing was 'within spec/no remediation required', yet VW are treating that as a previous claim in order to deny your current claim for excessive oil consumption.

Regardless, it will be fruitless chasing VW, VWFS or VW Warranty. Your contract is with the dealer you purchased the van from and it is they I'd be chasing for a financial contribution to the costs arising from this issue.
