1st time hooking up briefcase type 11amp solar panel, only getting 1 amp output. Cloud free full sunshine at mid day.
Unit brand new, measured with multimeter volts and amps, also with inline solar meter.
Await renogy tech guys getting back to me.
Any one had similar issues.
I take it that the panel is a dumb unit ie no negotiation with controller for output required for different levels of battery charge level.
Tech never asked me the charge level of the battery which was about 95%.
Will keep updates as I get info from Renogy.

The sun is very weak in the UK at this time of year.

Looking at the shadow from the panel, it's not the optimum angle.

The panel should be 90deg to the sun.

Having said that you haven't said what size panel?

Assuming you said 11A, so expecting a 200w panel, as you can get 6A per 100w panel max.

What solar controller are you using,?

Into what battery?

The battery needs to be low to get max power from the panel..... As the voltage of the battery rises closer to the panel voltage the current ent will drop off.

thanks, I tried different angles, still just 1 amp. Battery almost fully charged at 95%. Will try after running battery down a bit.

Don't know if this helps but this is my figures for the day from a 100w portable jackery panel mounted on my dash, feeding a Victron smart solar and charging SB and LB. Obviously the panel has to receive sunlight through the glass so that will knock it a bit.....

It looks like the 220 watt renogy, same as my secondary panel. In summer sun it was reaching 250 watts. Excellent panels.

Sorry, Sterling dc dc charger with solar input. 2x agm 95ah in parallel.
