Removing rear heater / AC unit from Shuttle

Hi I cannot see that the original question was ever answered? I have a 2017 T6 Shuttle and need to take out the rear aircon to make room for the camper conversion. Has anyone managed to have it done? Any advice would be gratefully received. I have made the initial phone calls with the local (Southampton) specialists and even spoke to Breeze VW but have not been able to get any further. My shuttle is stripped out with only the front seat in so the delay is becoming very frustrating can anyone please help.
You need to get water pipes under the van looped as the water is supposed to go through rear heater

Ac pipes at bulkhead is real easy for mechanic, you can take the rear ones out, I did it and got ac guy to refill it

Hi @Jeffers316 I had this done on my T5 Shuttle and it as quoted above. The Air Con Pipes and water pipes need to be capped off and re-routed. Once that is done you can remove the unit yourself.

Thanks for your responses Jollyvan and Doulsy I have seen a video on YouTube of it being done on a T5 so it does not seem that hard however I cannot seem to find anyone in Hampshire who is willing to de-gas it for me let alone isolate the front. I would be quite happy to remove the unit and the pipes myself if I could get it done. I will keep looking thanks.

It can be done but you need a proper A/C specialist to cap it off and re gas it to the correct level. I've heard differing reports ranging from hundreds of quid to a grand plus to do this...I kept mine in, quite a handy addition but needed to do some work with the wiring loom (extended and shortening some cables) coming from under the drivers seat so I could relocate the control panel in the rear furniture. The fact I had self made furniture aided this mind. Hope this helps..

Thanks for responding had plans for the area where the rear aircon is so am hoping to remove it. There is a video on YouTube of it being removed on a T5 so it can be done but am having trouble getting it de-gassed in Hampshire so still looking for someone to do it.

Hello !

I've just bought a VW T6 that cames from POLAND. I want to remove the rear heater that has AC. I've seen others posts here and a video here
but mine is different, the AC connections are not the same. There is just 1 cable at the beginning and the separation from front to rear is under the air filter box, so I need to remove a piece that separate in 2 the AC, and then made the connection. But my garage told me it do not have the piece to make the connection.

The separator number is 7e1820725G, there is some pictures here https://archiwum.allegro.pl/oferta/waz-przewod-klimy-vw-t5-t6-7e1820727h-7e1820725g-i7638604494.html

Anyone here has had the same installation and managed to do that ? It just need a piece to connect but where to find it ?
