Rain Leaking into the Cab

Hi I had battled with this issue on my old LDV Pilot ( long long looooong story ) and hadn't expected the same with a T6. Is this just something van owners have to live with or can it be sorted. Thanks. With the LDV it just wasn't designed for rain. Is the T6 the same or should the cab stay dry? I'm quite upset to find the water and from playing around with pouring water just on the windscreen drain holes I am shocked to see there doesn't seem to be an exit root for the water...??? I can't see through the vents to see what is supposed to happen to the water but it looks like it is just meant to find it's own way out... that can't be right??? Can anyone help, Thanks.

hello, can you provide more infos please? Where is the water inside? any pictures?

tricky to help without more input..

Most of the reports that are linked to water in the cab are as a result of having roof bars fitted. So as a starter for 10, do you have roof bars/ rails?

When water drains off the windscreen there are holes it can go into. The water is meant to then be drained away from the firewall and engine but if some of the drainage isn't working some drains into the cab. That's what I think is happening.

Water comes in here as it drains off the windscreen..but then once through the drain holes it has nowhere to go and seems to go where it likes. So you can see it just drains anywhere down the inside of the van down the wheel arches, but some will be going down the firewall and seeping into the cab. I know I could take the wipers off and take off the plastic cover and look to see how the scuttle drains work on this but want to know more before learning the hard way. I have arthritis in my hands so it's a real pain trying to get under these covers.

As DaveyB an awful lot of issues are with crappy fitting of roof rails. Just a thought. Do you know if your van has had a replacement windscreen ?

It's def from the windscreen drain area because I have tested it and I'm only pouring water into the plastic wiper gutter.

I have booked her ( she's called Blue btw ) into the garage next week because I don't want to battle with getting the wipers and plastic cover off. But I can see myself paying then a lot and find they've not done anything to sort it other than scratch their heads. So I need to know what then have to do.

Hope it gets sorted. Sorry but I did have a chuckle that the van is leaking and your user name starts with Tena...
I'll get my coat :speechless:

Probably the drain hoses are blocked or come off, they don't like being blasted with a air hose.

Oh thanks. btw sorry I realised it is a t5 but I expect the drains are much the same. I tried testing with water on the driver side which is dry and water goes down those holes then out of a tube near the front of the van. So yes.. I bet there's a tube missing or blocked on the passenger side. I got a torch to try to see into the area there and can see loads of leaves in there through the air vent slits in the plastic. So it hopefully is just going to need cleaning! Fingers crossed! I hope it's that simple!!! :) Thanks

I can't believe i didn't click on to the fact it was a t5. The side indicator is staring me in the face on the picture.:whistle:

im aware this is an old thread but could someone point me in the direction of where the drain hoses area at the front of the van, i have a leak coming into the footwell area and it appears to be dripping off the fan motor housing once the kick panel is removed from under the dash.
thanks Sam

Hi Sam i have a similar issue but not located where the water is coming from yet. did you manage to locate a diagram or something for where the drain hoses are on the t6? Thanks Luke

Hi guys me too! I think a stater for me is wipers off and scuttle panel removal but would be great to have a diagram
