Radio Not Turning Off.

Travelling home from work tonight and I noticed the volume on the radio was going up and down.
When I looked at the display it was just a black screen. Turning the radio off did nothing, but the volume up and down did work.
When I got home, I turned the engine off and removed the key but the radio kept on playing.
In the end I had to disconnect then reconnect the battery and everything was working again.

Is this common? Or is it a sign that there could be a bigger underlying issue?

Factory fitted head unit btw.

Maybe the head unit needed a reset. Press and hold the power button down until the VW logo appears on screen

On another note,I've noticed my station art has gone apart from radio 2,will a reset fix this?.

I had the same thing with the RNS510 in my old Amarok. It fixed itself over night and never did it again.

Holding power button in had no effect on the radio. The only way I could turn it off was to disconnect the battery.

No issues since then. Radio and display have been fine.
