Probably adblue issue. How do i flush the system?

Hello

Picked up my ex AA T6 on Saturday. No lights on. Adblue said it had 6500 miles and wasn't counting down. 120 miles later, it suddenly dropped to 650 and said put some in, while it ticked down with the driving. It then jumped back up to the static 6500 miles and the engine light came on.
So I am pretty sure it's because the AdBlue was old and that has caused the fault code.
So I am going to flush the system, put some new fluid in and reset the code.
That is the plan but what is the best way to drain, and flush the system ready for the new Adblue?
( anyone who happens to be in the Fareham area and has a diagnostic tool please feel free to shout ;) )

Cheers
Matt

This behaviour is quite well known. The mileage counter doesn’t drop mile by mile, but by large jumps initially (maybe 1000 miles IIRC). It also depends on driving style, so 1000 miles of gentle driving may not make it drop at all.

The dropping to 650 miles and then back indicates and error, and you’ll need to scan the van for codes.

I had that 650 miles and then back to 5500 miles or so fault over two years and for me it was a blocked EGR cooler and leaking EGR pipe meaning there was very little EGR flow.

That made my AdBlue work harder to reduce NOx, and when it couldn’t reduce the NOx enough, it flagged and AdBlue error and dropped the mileage to 650 miles.

That’s good to know mate, cause I’ve just had a new Dpf put on, a new bi turbo, new egr valve/ pipe, cam belt and new hose pipes and other bits and pieces ( £££££££ spent) and just done my first drive to work and back and adblue error decides to start flashing!!! Straight to 650 and counting down!!! Pissed isn’t a strong enough word!!! took it back to garage and there not sure what it is so now got an independent specialist putting his computer on it, and no doubt I’ll have to pay for it!! because the garage tells me that the adblue problem isn’t connected to them having the engine out and on the floor!! I actually see it and it’s a big lump to be fair, had no problems with adblue previous to this so fo you think guys that the lad has done something?

His 2 computers ( snap on and Zeus I think it was ) showed different faults, one being noc sensor I think he said and the other was flow from the adblue to the engine but they don’t have the vw software to delve further into it, just general car software, but he tells me all them parts again could be hundreds of pounds which to be honest I’m reluctant to pay as I’ve just spent nearly £9000 gettin basically a new emissions system fitted!! Any help or thoughts on what to do guys will be a great help

Updates guys!!! Absolute nightmare so no one can explain the adblue error!! So I’ve had it deleted!! yeah :) but no !! So the guy who mapped my van and has the files ( so deleted the adblue) says your original issue, did the garage change the glow plugs? ( the vw inspection mentioned glowplug error ) but I think that’s generic to the coil flashing on the dash, so I checked and no they haven’t so he thinks the original problem is usually a glowplug problem ( if anyone can 2nd that theory) be good to know and because they put a new Dpf on that’s why it’s got blocked again and back pressure has blown my turbo!!!! So had it in garage to have new glowplugs and lo and behold !! 2 have come out and 2 ( 1 being the sensor one ) are welded in so need to be professionally drilled out :( anyone know how much that can cost? havin a mare at the minute !!!!!!!

And the guy tells me he can delete the Dpf but I’m reluctant after spending nearly £3000 gettin it on !!
